Yes, cortisone injections are covered by RAMQ when they are medically necessary and administered by a participating physician.

However, other types of injections—such as hyaluronic acid or platelet-rich plasma (PRP)—are not covered by RAMQ, even if performed in the same clinic. These are considered elective or non-essential by the public plan and will incur out-of-pocket costs.
